Can you tell when your life gets too complex?Hey guys! So yes, I know it's been a while and I'm not even going to apologize like the previous two times, I'll just hope you keep reading... You can probably tell what this blog is going to be about and if your life is the least bit confusing, you will probably keep reading anyways. I am going to write below, an excerpt from a bible study book my youth director taught from Wednesday night that has stuck with me since then.. Why Is My Life So Full Of Confusion? The dictionary defines the word "adolescent" as "preparing for maturity." Preparing indicates a time of learning and adjusting. The teenage life is one that oscillates between the securities and ideals of childhood and the responsibilities of adulthood. Every girl and boy must pass through this stage of life to become a grown man or woman. One of the most evident changes of the teen is the physical appearance. The little girl behind to look like a young woman, the boy like a young man. You may "feel" grown up, yet the personality, emotions, and menta capacity are just beginning their changes. The period of waiting for the body and the emotions to become adjusted can bring insecurities, moodiness, and rebellion. Be patient. The end result will be wonderful, as you allow God to do the molding and developing in His own perfect way and time. You may have many ideas and interests at this time. A life with direction gives a since of purpose and security through accomplishment. It becomes easy to give in to temptation when you have no direction. Failures will come your way during the teen years, but a wise young person looks upon these as stepping-stones, not as block to trip over. Do not fear your inadequacies. Instead, admit them. Begin to eliminate deficiencies, and work around those you cannot. As a teenager you will have a great need to talk and share these confusing changes. This is important for you. You will find you are not alone in your problems. As you pass through these teen years, many of your beliefs will be questioned. What you do with these questions will determine the pattern of your future. For this reason is is imperative that you establish a firm foundation of Christian principles and morals. Believing and acting on these is important. But do not make the mistake of not knowing why you believe and act. Do not base your future solely on what you have heard, but seek the firsthand knowledge to give you the security you need as a teenager, to stand by what is right and godly. When confusion confronts you, you can defeat it with truth, that is, through Jesus Christ and His Word. In these impressionable years, your "food" will determine your destiny. Feed spiritually on the Word of God, and learn now to trust God for every area of life. Remember, God sees tomorrow even better than you and I see yesterday. and enjoy these photos from the last few months of my crazy, confusing life!
